The Girl in Red’s Weblog

Nice to know people have actually been searching for me on this website. youtube the girl in red and the girl in red were two searches which led to my blog. Also, some other recent searches which led to my blog: tgir girl,  insult dictionary,  “You wouldn’t even have coffee with me?” (love the Bones quote).

Okay, for all those who missed it, everyone thought the world was going to end the other day because they’re simulating black holes. It didn’t (though that doesn’t mean the people who wanted to research it and the people financing it shouldn’t be shot. “Oh, let’s create the possibility for world damnation.”), some believeing it was all a bunch of crap from the start, those who worried it might and those who think the world will end in 2012 when the Mayan calendar does. I did not originally know about this. My friend told me the world was going to end. I’d seen some people on the Goddess website posting stuff about it, but I didn’t know why. So now I had my friend telling me this, I start to remember the posts and freak out about what it meant. It didn’t help that she told me seconds before I went into an exam. Anyway, the thing that got to me most was how excited everyone was at the idea of the world ending and how disappointed they were when it didn’t happen.

Songs: Cry for You – September, Dreams – the Cranberries, Break my Stride (the Unique II version). Yeah, with the exception of the first, I’m looking back. There was also one called “Coco Jamboo” by Mr President. Plus “She drives me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals and “the Lumberjack song” (yeah, a little Monty Python).

When I think of more, I’ll post it.

P.S. MOST OF MY ASSESSMENT IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy now.

Woohoo!!!

Okay, I just discovered for all you Bones fans a few sneak peaks from the first ep of the fourth season!!!

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/bones/bones-stars-dishes-on-the-new-22329.aspx

Now, is it just me, or does it appear to be that the English actress in the first clip played Susie in Torchwood?

I’m assuming you’ve all seen the Doctor Who Christmas special teaser. If not, it should be on Youtube.

{August 28, 2008}   Blech

I’m sick. Virus plus low blood pressure. Dude, it totally sucks. Everytime I stand up, I get dizzy. I’ve spent most of the day sitting down. Small but permanent headache with me, I thought you guys needed another post.

Okay, for anyone who’s seen both the trailers for Twilight, check this out on youtube: Twilight Trailer Spoof. It is HILARIOUS, I promise. It’s funny, but only if you’ve seen both trailers. There’s supposedly going to be another trailer (not a teaser) which has a surprise date. Plus, they’re filming an extra scene. A flashback, apparently.

Yay! The Olympics are over and now I can get back to watching Bones. And City Homicide is back! Yippee! New character on Bones. A psychiatrist. I liked the last scene with him in it – “You wouldn’t even have coffee with me?”, the way he’s just grinning to himself and writing down notes.

I wish I had a book to read. I’ve read all the ones on my shelf a tonne of times. Actually, now that I think about it, I got out a book the other day, so I’ll try to read that. If anyone’s got any boredom busters for me (or any ideas for lists), I’d appreciate them right about now.

Ah, my head.

{August 23, 2008}   What we Should Do

What I should do (with the help of you guys) is create a list. So what I’m going to do is ask for suggestions for lists that could be entertaining (just leave your suggestions as comments) and then I will create said lists (trying to make them as big and entertaining as possible).

Right now, I’m making my own list of life lessons and truths. But it’s not any of that soppy crap. No, here are a few of mine:

-There is no such thing as maturity when it comes to bubbles

-Music can make life much more bearable

-Everyone who has eaten wafer biscuits has tried to separate the layers and

-Don’t do the jobs/subjects/activities your parents want you to do; you’re going to have to live with the decision a lot longer than they will

I’m just in a listing mood.

I’ve been on the Goddess site a lot lately and the boards are so DEAD!!!!! Honest to God, I’m starting to worry. It’s so weird. Never have the majority of boards I like to go on become more dead!!!

Music: the One by Kylie Minogue and Disturbia by Rihanna are the ones I’m listening to right now. Disturbia is the one which just has this kind of sexy feel to it. I can’t explain it, it’s just mesmerising.

{August 19, 2008}   Oh, I nearly forgot

SBS is showing Top Gear out of order. So while I’ve seen the Tennant episode, I haven’t seen the Piper episode. Oh, and did you know that Eccleston was on just after Doctor Who (the first season of new Who) had finished showing in Britain?

Also, I found out on imdb that Naomi Watts is no longer Vittoria in Angels and Demons.

Argh, I want it to be the weekend.

{August 18, 2008}   Need more posts

To get people reading my blog again. That’s what happens when you get busy with other stuff.

Okay, let’s see. I saw the Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Occasionally silly, but still a good movie. One fight scene had me smiling with satisfaction, but I won’t say, ‘cos I’m not about spoilers.

Twilight, for everyone in the US, is now coming out November 21st. Yay you. Us Aussies have to WAIT until January 9th. But I’m not bitter. No, of course not. Why would I be bitter that Australia’s release date is a lot later than all the others? Oh, and there’s going to be an OZ Twilight convention. It’s either late 2009 or early 2010. I’m sure you can find out more about it.

We’re in season 3 of Bones now (stupid Olympics got it paused). Plus seven has finally shown the other two eps of Heroes back to back, so I’ve seen them!!! Third “Volume” of Heroes starts September in US, which probably means October in OZ. Celebrate people.

Check out, if you haven’t seen it, Frank Woodley’s version of the Swim and Adam Hills theory on creating boy bands (both from Spicks and Specks and both can be found on Youtube).

Yeah, sorry I haven’t been on. Tonne of work. Plus my surprising social life (as in I’m surprised it exists).

Facebook is a funny old thing. You can come across people you haven’t spoken to in years. It’s so weird.

Been listening to lots of Natasha Bedingfield online. Like Pirate Bones, Pocketful of Sunshine and some others.

Anyway, dinner’s on the table. Catch you lot later.

So hello. :)

Okay, what’s up? Well, I haven’t been able to go on the Who boards ‘cos I haven’t seen the finale, so have been sticking to the Twilight boards. New trailer out and everyone’s geting excitede over the upcoming release of the fourth and final in the series Breaking Dawn. However, if you go to Stephanie Meyer’s website, she seems to have a chapter of a novel which is Twilight from Edward’s perspective. It’s called Midnight Sun.

Also, I have seen Raiders of the Lost Ark and Speed. Liked both, especially Speed.

Songs you should check out: Black and Gold by Sam Sparro, Mirror by Barlow Girls.

All those people in Australia cringed as they watched the Top Gear crew (BTW, SBS are showing the eps out of order) waste beautiful. glorious water by using it to fill up cars and see which old British car could go ’round the track the furthest (water leaking out, they had to stop when the water was below the steering wheel).

Someone I know spent five minutes trying to remember what she had for dinner last night (to our amusement). Here is in general what she said (I can’t put everything up here ‘cos I don’t remember it all. I’ll start somewhere in the middle and skip bits): “This is really worrying… It wasn’t steak, that was the night before…I remember, I had popcorn beforehand and then it was dinner…Wait, did I even have dinner last night?…And there were these stringy things…yes! Spaghetti bolognaise”. I laughed a lot.

{July 13, 2008}   So Random (what’s new?)

Latest searches leading to my site: Janet Fielding’s huge boobs, july girl, going red from stress.

Okay, I really want to read Twilight now, ‘cos I’m actually looking forward to the movie.

Just saw Hancock. If you like Will Smith, you’ll like this. Plus, it’s like the anti-superhero movie, almost.

You know, there are a tonne of blogs created for a tonne of different reasons. Maybe they’re personal, maybe they’re professional. But there is one blog that I would love to see shut down and that is Juicy Campus. It is a bitchfest where some of the stuff isn’t even true (actually, probably most of the stuff is garbage). The idea that people can be so damaging for secular entertainment kind of bugs me. This, along with all the Youtube bashings, just makes me feel sad. Sad for the people who have to endure this and sad that humankind has been reduced to this. But I also think that t makes you value the ones who aren’t like this even more. But maybe that’s just me.

I also watched Casanova (the Heath Ledger one, not the David tennant one). I thought it was funny. There was an amusing line which comes from one of the puppet shows.

I just saw the first pic for the American version of Kath and Kim and, as much as I think Selma Blair is awesome, I’m feeling a little dubious. It’s just the whole Americans remaking a perfectly good TV show thing. A lot of it, though, is Australian humour and I don’t think they’ll get it.

{July 4, 2008}   I’m Back Again

Yes, hello. I’m feeling less miserable about my little piggy and have been giving the other piggy more attention for the time being.

I went and saw Get Smart yesterday. It was a good movie. The Rock is always good in action, but he’s underrated as a comedy actor. Anne Hathaway’s 99 was good and kicked arse (now I can live with the modern day Charlie’s Angels movie).

Now, let’s set up a Doctor Who drinking game. Very simple stuff. I’ll come up with some basic stuff and you can twist things around to your heart’s content, even remove some if you’re scared of getting too hammered (inspired by the lovely people on the imdb Doctor Who boards, however some I’ve been thinking about for a while. Also some inspiration from SFX magazine). Note that this is mainly for Tenth Doctor adventures (however, you could drink everytime Nine says Fantastic, I suppose).

1. Every time the Doctor cries one of the following:

- What? What?!? WHAT?!?!?

-That’s impossible! (Double the amount if it’s not the Doctor saying it)

-Brilliant!

-Don’t do that ( Don’t)

-Allons-y!

-No no no no no!

-I’m sorry (I’m so sorry)

-I’m the Doctor

2. Anytime the Doctor makes a comment on humans

3. Everytime Jack hits on someone (if watching with others, wink at them and then drink)

4. Everytime a Dalek cries “EXTERMINATE!”

5. Everytime the Doctor puts on the brainy specs, wolf whistle and drink

6. Everytime there’s an actor that you recognise from Harry Potter (THAT ISN’T TENNANT; IF YOU INCLUDE TENNANT, YOU’LL BE BRAIN DEAD IN THE MORNING*)

7. Everytime someone says “It can’t be”, go “ha HA!” and scull

8. Anytime Rose gets jealous in regards to the Doctor

9. Anytime after Doomsday  that there is a Rose reference

10. Anytime the Doctor name drops, go “Yeah, yeah, whatever” and drink

11. Anytime a previous New Who episode is referenced

12. Anytime there is mention of bananas, go “Bananas are good” and drink (even if the line is that bananas are good)

13. Anytime anyone is told to “RUN!!!!!!” or indicated to run (like in Partners in Crime )

14. Anytime Donna makes a comment about how the Doctor isn’t human (e.g. calling him names like martian or spaceboy)

That’s all I can think of for now. You can think up more yourself. Enjoy!

*The only time you could use Tennant is if it is a Doctor lite episode

{June 27, 2008}   An Assortment of Things

Okay, this bit is philosophical, so beware. I came up with this a few years back and it’s something I believe.

Life is like a train station. Many trains come and go. Some are similar, but there are differences each time. It might take you to different destinations or it might take you to a destination at a later time. But you’ve got to choose preety quickly which trains to get on, because that train will happily leave without you. But you’ve got to get on a train before the station closes or before it gets too late.

Sorry, I just felt like putting that up. I put tonnes of totally random stuff on this blog, so that might as well get a gurnsey.

Okay. Music stuff now. This might sound bad, but I love Westlife’s latest song. I can’t remember the name, but I’d get the single. Another song I love is Closer by Neyo. I’ve been trying to find the single, but I don’t think it’s out yet. It’s such a sexy song. Never thought I’d use that phrase on this blog, but there you go.

I’m now worried about the kind of people who visit my site. It’s not that I don’t want visitors, I do, but you know how it shows you the search terms that people use that people use to get to your site? It might be David Tennant or Barrowman or Dylan Moran. There have been several terms which have come up in my blog (a lot Doctor Who related, but also a lot none Doctor Who related, like people, or specific posts of mine or even “thegirlinred”). Well, one person searched for this: Gay Dentist in Uniform. I’m not kidding. Someone got onto my blog after using the search term “Gay Dentist in Uniform”. Why they were searching this beats me, but you get that.

I watched the Island last night. It was actually really good. I thikn people gave it bad reviews because it rang too close to home and it made them feel guilty.

It’s cold. WAH. Don’t like it. It makes me want to eat more. I feel like pasta or roast potatoes or something. Damn, this is making me feel hungry. I’m going to go and eat now. It’s not like I have anything else to say anyway.
