The Girl in Red’s Weblog

{December 21, 2008}   Four Sleeps ’til Christmas!

Yes, this week is sure to be filled with some kind of poultry, ham, chocolate, punch, wine, chocolate, nuts and various other things. I’m really looking forward to Christmas. I always hope really hard that my family and whatever like the presents I got them. Same with birthdays. But yeah, while I love the receiving, I find the giving more pleasureable. So far no one has done the frozen smile thing when they’ve opened their present from me, but I’m always worried about it.

Did you know that there are three songs with the title “Breathe”? Just like there are three versions of “Mambo No.5″ (love the first cover, hate the second). There’s one by Blu Cantrell and Sean Paul which isn’t bad. I like the other two more, though. One’s by Anna Nannick. My favourite, however, is the Michelle Branch version. Actually, I’ve also been listening to her song “Everywhere”.

Okay, what have I been looking up on the internet? Okay, there have been quite a few interviews and skits and stuff with the three main stars of Tropic Thunder (Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.). There’s the “behind the scenes” of their “viral ad for Tropic Thunder” sketch.  There’s an American Idol skit (look up Gladys Knight and the Pips). But on top of this, I’ve accidentally found RDJ on Rove, Jack Black challenging Michael Buble on Rove and Robert Downey Jr.’s acceptance speech at ShoWest (Empire magazine had mentioned ShoWest a few issues back and some funny thing between RDJ and Stiller as they introduced clips. Actually, that’s where I heard about the viral ad skit).

{December 9, 2008}   Hey

Yep, unimaginative title because I’m basically just going to ramble. But you’re all used to that by now, aren’t you? Random things like I’m listening to the album Eye to the Telescope by K.T. Tunstall.

Okay, I never got to give you my verdict of the Ting Tings’ album We Started Nothing. Well, it is in the same sort of (quirky) style as their already released songs and I love it.

I’ll be seeing Twilight with my friends pretty soon, so I’ll have to give you a verdict on that as well.

Not feeling as traumatised as I was yesterday, thank goodness (although I’m pretty sure none of you are aware of what happened ‘cos no one’s visited my blog since I made that post). But I got a needle today. It hurt a bit. But then earlier tonight, I felt like I was going to throw up, so that kind of wasn’t good.

Parties galore at the moment. I can’t go to all of them, but still. Christmas is coming up and I still need to buy various people presents of some shape or form.

I really need to get back to gym. I can, but the thing is, I’ve lost a lot of fitness, so I want to make sure I approach this the right way. I don’t know; I just want to get fit again.

{December 6, 2008}   Okey-Dokey

Obviously, it’s not long ’til Christmas. I need to do some real shopping for various people. I have to vacuum my room ‘cos I can finally do that now. So who would believe me if I said my social life is in overdrive? Yep, various parties, movie trips, etc. It’s brilliant. Tiring and time consuming, obviously, but brilliant. And fun. Pity I’m so out of shape. Seriously, it’s getting kind of bad. I tried going on the exercise bike, but then I got overheated and dizzy for reasons I don’t comprehend. Then when I tried to go on it again, my family were like “NO!”.

Recently watched Scrubs again. I swear to God, it’s the damnedest show ever. But, let’s face it, it’s funny. My fave ep is the musical one.

New music alert! It’s from a singer called Jessica Mauboy. Many know her as the 2006 Australian Idol runner-up in addition to joining the group made up of many ex-Idol contestants (the other members being Kate deAruago, Paulini and Emily Williams) the Young Divas (she originally replaced Ricki-lee, but I believe she’s now left the group, too). More recently, she’s released a solo album, with the well known hit Running Back featuring Flo-Rida. However, she has just released an awesome song called Burn. Check it out; something tells me it’s going to do well. She is also set to be in a remake of an Abroiginal musical with Missy Higgins, Geoffrey Rush, Madga Szubanski etc.

I love Iron Man (don’t forget about the coda), as you probably know and am looking forward to the planned sequels in addition to The Avengers movie. I don’t know how many Americans even look at this blog, but I just found this:

So there you go. I also recently saw Snakes on a Plane. Well, part of it. I stopped watching. Okay, here’s the thing: I’m relatively good with movie and TV violence. But a high heel through the ear drum? A snake going for the eye? Not to mention all the sexual violence (I mean, come on, combining sex with violence is sick). Shame, really; I like Samuel L. Jackson.

They’ve stopped showing season 4 of Bones for the moment and are starting from the very beginning. Annoying, but I also realised that as the show has developed, the character of Bones has become nerdier and nerdier.  Started watching a program called Eli Stone, which was really good.

For all music buffs, obviously Kings of Leon are getting big and they have awesome music (Sex on Fire, Use Somebody). T.I released a song with Rihanna called Live your Life. For dance lovers, there’s a song called Get Shaky by the Ian Carey Project. I recently remembered a song by N.E.R.D called She wants to Move and so I’ve been listening to that.

{October 29, 2008}   Brain Overload

Okay, trying to catch up on everything I’ve missed, but I’m sooooo tired! I get physically exhausted so easily! Okay, don’t know if I’ve mentioned it, but Google Bunnies Theatre. It is hilarious.

I’ve been a little up and down lately. Yep, not exercising’s making me feel really bad. Physically, mentally and emotionally. For all reasons. *headdesk*

I’m getting people back now that I’m able to make my posts more regular.

More Ting Tings goodness in the form of “Shut up and Let me Go”. I really need to get their album.

Imdb’s decided to make it so that you have to “authenticate” your account in ways which mean you have to own a credit card. Not actually pay, but yeah. Credit card number, Amazon account (where you use your credit card) and something else. Which means I will never be able to post on imdb message boards again, ‘cos I don’t want to share personal details. It has been stripped of its Goddess title.

{September 18, 2008}   The Obscure world that is Youtube

Okay, checking out Youtube. Obviously, that is how I rediscovered songs such as “Coco Jamboo”. But I’ve found a lot of other stuff. There’s a song which goes “They’re going to take me away” which is so strange. The song “We Cry” by the Script is a really good song. I checked out a little bit of Monty Python, such as the fish slapping dance. Also, the Lumberjack song by the Python crew.

Look, I’m not going to be on here for a little whlie, ‘cos I’m going to be REALLY busy, but if you guys leave me comments (such as ideas for lists and things of the like), I will be more than happy to sort everything out when I’m no longer busy.

Nice to know people have actually been searching for me on this website. youtube the girl in red and the girl in red were two searches which led to my blog. Also, some other recent searches which led to my blog: tgir girl,  insult dictionary,  “You wouldn’t even have coffee with me?” (love the Bones quote).

Okay, for all those who missed it, everyone thought the world was going to end the other day because they’re simulating black holes. It didn’t (though that doesn’t mean the people who wanted to research it and the people financing it shouldn’t be shot. “Oh, let’s create the possibility for world damnation.”), some believeing it was all a bunch of crap from the start, those who worried it might and those who think the world will end in 2012 when the Mayan calendar does. I did not originally know about this. My friend told me the world was going to end. I’d seen some people on the Goddess website posting stuff about it, but I didn’t know why. So now I had my friend telling me this, I start to remember the posts and freak out about what it meant. It didn’t help that she told me seconds before I went into an exam. Anyway, the thing that got to me most was how excited everyone was at the idea of the world ending and how disappointed they were when it didn’t happen.

Songs: Cry for You – September, Dreams – the Cranberries, Break my Stride (the Unique II version). Yeah, with the exception of the first, I’m looking back. There was also one called “Coco Jamboo” by Mr President. Plus “She drives me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals and “the Lumberjack song” (yeah, a little Monty Python).

When I think of more, I’ll post it.

P.S. MOST OF MY ASSESSMENT IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy now.

{August 30, 2008}   Misery is Me

Okay, before I get onto my rant, I’ve got two funeral movies which you should all watch:

1. Death at a Funeral

2. Eulogy

The former is British, the latter is American, but both are brilliant and laugh out loud funny in my opinion.

I’m still sick. If I put on an American accent, I sound like Miley Cyrus, strangely enough. It sucks, because of my lack of appetite, I lost two kilos. I had a frappe and a big bowl of linguini for lunch and I’m two kilos heavier. That sort of sucks. I take that back. Not “sort of sucks”, TOTALLY sucks. I mean, dude! Agh. Hopefully, I won’t be this heavy tomorrow. I’m desperately trying to lose this bloody weight. I got HEAVIER after going to the gym. Accordin to Dad, after a while when you’ve built enough muscle, you get lighter. I hope that’s the case. But right now, I’m sort of at the headbanging stage, if you know what I mean. I’m getting pretty desperate. If my self-esteem takes a dip, I’m worried I’ll do something stupid to lose weight (keep it from my family, obviously).

Like the song Just Dance by Lady Gaga featuring Akon. I only heard it this week, but you know. Also, a song called Spotlight by Jennifer Hudson is pretty good.

{August 23, 2008}   What we Should Do

What I should do (with the help of you guys) is create a list. So what I’m going to do is ask for suggestions for lists that could be entertaining (just leave your suggestions as comments) and then I will create said lists (trying to make them as big and entertaining as possible).

Right now, I’m making my own list of life lessons and truths. But it’s not any of that soppy crap. No, here are a few of mine:

-There is no such thing as maturity when it comes to bubbles

-Music can make life much more bearable

-Everyone who has eaten wafer biscuits has tried to separate the layers and

-Don’t do the jobs/subjects/activities your parents want you to do; you’re going to have to live with the decision a lot longer than they will

I’m just in a listing mood.

I’ve been on the Goddess site a lot lately and the boards are so DEAD!!!!! Honest to God, I’m starting to worry. It’s so weird. Never have the majority of boards I like to go on become more dead!!!

Music: the One by Kylie Minogue and Disturbia by Rihanna are the ones I’m listening to right now. Disturbia is the one which just has this kind of sexy feel to it. I can’t explain it, it’s just mesmerising.

{August 19, 2008}   I’m Pathetic

Yes, I am. It’s not ‘cos I’ve eaten whipped cream straight from the can. It’s not that I have fantasies about celebrities. It’s not that I’ve watched a soppy romcom several days in a row. No. I’m pathetic because I’ve got the Men in Tights song stuck in my head. For all those who have no idea of what I’m talking about, this is a song from Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Yes, I am aware that I am sad.

Anywho, moving on! Apparently the sequel to Bad Kitty (named Kitty Kitty) is coming out. I just want to read it already ‘cos I need something to read. I have literally read and re-read all my books.

Music! I already mentioned that I like the song Pirate Bones by Natasha Bedingfield (I’m almost tempted to just call her NBed in this blog ‘cos I’m lazy and am sick of continually having to type her full name). I also like:

-Forever by Chris Brown

-Violet Hill by Coldplay

-One Step at a Time by Jordin Sparks

-the Scientist by Coldplay

-Black and Gold by Sam Sparro

You know, just to name a few.

I must be one of the only ones, but I hate the Olympics. With a passion. They are so BORING. Plus there isn’t anything else on any other channels you can watch. BAH!!!!!! Sorry. Just venting. No Bones, no Heroes, no nothing. Well, there’s Doctor Who, but I never get a chance to watch it. Oh well. It won’t matter ’til Midnight.

I noticed that everyone’s noticed that I’m back and I appreciate it. Love you lots.
